Having an experienced mother of three give you the personalized blueprints for optimizing your health when growing a baby and then what specifically to do for your postpartum healing.
The Perinatal PT Bundle is THE best way to ensure optimal health during pregnancy & birth preparation, with personalized answers your questions about labor & birth. In postpatum you will receive trusted care and experienced expertise to teach you what to do after birth to ensure prevention of incontinence, pain, prolapse, and diastasis recti abdominus (DRA) and promote healing and return to safe exercise.
Session 1 (during your 2nd trimester) prepares your body (and pelvic floor!) for the end of pregnancy to prevent pain & incontinence. We will lay the foundations for a strong and extensible pelvic floor making sure pelvic floor contractions and relaxations are their best. We will train your body for optimal posture alignment throughout pregnancy to prevent pain and pelvic misalignments. We will establish a personalized exercise program & you will have accountability for exercise program. All this and also yummy relaxing hands-on manual therapy to soothe away your aches and pains.
Session 2 (during your 3rd trimester) ensures open birthing pelvic alignment. You will learn valuable techniques to prepare your pelvic floor for maximum expansion for birth. Additionally you will learn pushing and breath techniques for labor phase II. You’ll go into birth with an open attitude knowing that you’ve done all your can to prepare your body for the best birth for you! Don’t worry, while all of this education and talking is happening we’ll still have time for lots of hands-on manual therapy to free you from achiness and pain - you deserve it!
Session 3 occurs sometime during the first 6 weeks postpartum - that nebulous time when you’re ready to start moving and feeling like yourself again. I will make a house call and the PT session will be anything you want it to be (depending on what stage you’re at!) - we will cover core connection, breathing, posture, pelvic floor & abdominal activation and relaxation, breastfeeding positioning, sleep positioning, nutrition, toileting techniques, scar/incision soft tissue mobilization and I will perform any necessary hands on techniques to rid your body of aches and pains.
Session 4 occurs 3-6 months postpartum; once you are discharged from obstetrics care. I will be your primary care provider for the remainder of your rehabilitation! We will likely perform an internal pelvic floor assessment. We will establish postpartum movement and exercise goals, and a plan with steps to achieve those goals. After this appointment, the lines of communication will always be open, so you can reach out to me with questions beyond this point in your rehabilitation journey.
